So, here's the full story! So, before I got into makeup I was....an ACCOUNTANT (a CPA actually!). Pretty common career path...NAWT.

Growing up I was super into makeup and beauty. I was always the one doing my friends' makeup before we went to the bar and doing photoshoots after school with looks that I thought were very avant-garde! I loved the classic glamour of Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn and was also super inspired by the diverse beauty of women such as Alek Wek, Geri Halliwell (I'm a wannabe Ginger Spice!), Gabrielle Reece and Frida Kahlo. 

The obvious next step was to go to school, and so I did...and got a Bachelor of Commerce in ACCOUNTING. I spent the next 5 years auditing financial statements and then drafting them as a Controller. I was slightly miserable but I felt "credible". Then, in 2012 I wound up going to Singapore to see if the love-of-my-life actually WAS the-love-of-my-life (Spoiler Alert: he was!). I got past my fears of thinking makeup was too fun to be a real job and studied for a CIBTAC Certificate at the Cosmoprof Academy in Singapore (https://www.cosmoprof.com.sg/).

Soon after that we moved to London, UK and I did a MASA Diploma (with Distinction) from the London School of Beauty and Makeup (https://www.beauty-school.co.uk/) and the rest is history! I've worked at Benefit, been a makeup assistant, worked on runway shows, done makeup at the London School of Economics, filmed commercials for major consumer products brands, done makeup for online retailers and the winner of the Miss London pageant and even did makeup for the Formula F1 racer Valtteri Bottas. 

However, my favourite kind of makeup is still making real world women feel awesome and beautiful and that is what I love doing. When I do your makeup, I really CARE. I want you to feel and look GREAT and to feel confident going to your event - whether it's your wedding, family pictures, professional branding photos, a night out or  some pampering for yourself. I want to help you and I won't rest until you feel you look wonderful!

 

I have recently moved back to my hometown of Calgary, Alberta, Canada after living abroad for 11 years (9 in London, UK and 2 in Singapore). I'm so excited to be back! Yee haw!
